Do a walk-through of the venue

It’s a mistake to think that all beach venues are the same. While it’s true that they have the same elements—sun, sand and the sea, there are plenty other things that make each beach unique. This makes it imperative for you to do a walk-through of the venue you’ve chosen so you can take note of which specific features to highlight, which areas to spruce up, and how to dress up and organize the entire venue. Get everything in writing

  • Ensure that the guests are comfortable. Think about how the weather will be like on your wedding day. If it’s sunny, guests should be served with ice-cold beverages as well as fans to cool themselves. If possible, rent large fans to keep them cool or a large outdoor tent to keep them in shade. For a wedding in cold weather, rent portable heaters and hand out lap blankets for them to use.
  • Always have plan B. Don’t be too confident about the weather. Even if the weather forecast tells you it’s going to be a good day, you should still have a backup plan that is ready to be implemented in case of an unfortunate circumstance, say a strong rain shower that can leave the guests drenched. There should be a ready tent in case it starts to rain. Or there should be an indoor venue where the ceremony or reception can be moved to if the weather doesn’t cooperate.
